My name is Siân Butcher, I am 21 years old and I’m an environment artist currently in my third year of studying Computer Games Arts at Teesside University.
This blog will show the progress of my Games Practical Project module of work which is essentially my final year project. This project is called ‘The Addams Family Project’ which involves me creating an 3D game environment that runs real-time in the Unreal Engine 4. This environment will consists a series of rooms from the downstairs of the Addams Family mansion inspired predominately by the 1991 film.
This will be done using a numerous pieces of software including 3ds Max, Mudbox, Photoshop, Quixel Suite, Substances Designer, Substance Painter, Substance Bitmap2Material3, and Xnormal.
I will be regularly updating this blog to show research, preparatory work, screenshots, work in progress and any general other work relating to this project until I finally submit this project in March 2016.
I will also post any other work I do as personal projects unrelated to my university studies.
